DomainCapybara started because we kept getting burned by the same trick: a domain listed at $1 for the first year, then $30 at renewal. By the time you notice, you're already attached to the domain and just pay it.

We built this to make the full picture obvious upfront — first year price, renewal price, transfer price, and a 3-year total so you can compare registrars on equal footing.

How we get the data

We pull pricing directly from registrar APIs and pricing pages and refresh everything once a day. We don't manually maintain any prices — it's all automated. If something looks wrong, it's worth double-checking directly on the registrar's site before purchasing.
